Lake Roosevelt is the largest lake in Arizona. Lake Powell and Lake Mead are larger, but not fully contained in the state. Powell is shared with Utah and Mead is shared with Nevada. The lake was formed in a reclamation act by President Theodore Roosevelt in the early 1900s. The Salt River to the south and Tonto Creek to the north feed the lake. Water is release at the dam to the right of the bridge and flows to become the Salt River feeding several other lakes along the line.
