Swifts over the Canyon
A crescent moon and white-throated swifts soar over the Grand Canyon as seen from the House Rock Buffalo Ranch Wilderness. It was extremely windy the day I photographed this scene. It was also completely unnerving as these swifts would explode up from the lip of the canyon where I was standing. I'm always right on the edge. I love the look. It's exhilarating to be so close to the abyss. But between the wind gusts and the birds, I was more on edge than I would have liked.
